The Esports World Cup 2025 kicked off in Riyadh last night, and trust us when we say it did not come to play. Thousands packed into the capital’s Boulevard Arena for a night that blended gaming, music, and spectacle, officially kicking off the biggest esports tournament the world’s ever seen.
The fan zone opened early, with live matches, food stalls, merch, music, and more. By 9 P.M., the skies lit up with a massive drone show and fireworks as the tournament’s official anthem, featuring DINO of Seventeen, Duckwrth, Telle Smith, and Alesso, boomed through the arena.

The scale? Unreal. With over 2,000 players from more than 100 countries, 200 plus teams, and $70 million in prize money, this is a global showdown on every level. Across 25 tournaments and more than 20 game titles—from Valorant to Fatal Fury and even chess—the stakes are sky-high. Global names like Cristiano Ronaldo and Magnus Carlsen added star power as official ambassadors, bridging the worlds of esport and traditional sport.
And just when we thought it couldn’t get any more lit, Post Malone stepped in for a surprise set. He ran through fan favorites like Sunflower and Rockstar, gave the crowd a moment, then let the games take the spotlight.
