MDLBEAST is back with a fresh lineup of events set to unfold over the coming months. As the entertainment powerhouse gears up for one of its busiest seasons yet, the Saudi-based conglomerate has announced the return of their flagship guitar competition, to be held this December at XP, its signature event for the music industry.
Dubbed PWR CHORD, the competition invites applicants to submit a three to five minute long video showcasing their range of skills. From these entries, 10 participants will be selected and flown to XP, where they will perform before a distinguished jury including Megadeth guitarist Kiko Loureiro, acclaimed regional instrumentalist and educator Madani Zakri; Faisal Alami, influential MENA artist and mentor; Lebanese artist Lilas Mayassi; and performer-slash-instructor Asem Serah. Only four contestants will advance to the semifinals, facing off in 2v2 battles, with the final two going head-to-head for the ultimate title and the recognition that comes with it.
Hosted by Gigi Arabia, one of Saudi Arabia’s leading figures in the local music industry (and the founder of Heavy Arabia, the Kingdom’s first and only dedicated heavy metal promotion company), this year’s competition aims to inspire the next generation of guitar talent and spotlight the region’s rising stars. For MDLBEAST, the initiative reflects the company’s broader mission to nurture homegrown talent, foster creativity, and create opportunities for artists to shine on international stages. XP itself has quickly become a cornerstone for music professionals in the Middle East, offering panels, workshops, and performances that attract both regional and global heavyweights, while building a sustainable ecosystem for the future of the industry.
