Coperni closed the last Sunday evening of PFW with a show that paid homage to the so-called golden age of the internet—an era most of us either barely remember or never truly experienced. Dubbed LAN (short for Local Area Network), the Parisian brand set out to reignite “the thrill of the long-forgotten early online era — a time of discovery and human connection ». In town to attend the much anticipated show, below, we rounded our yays, and nays from the night; because while Coperni delivered a pixel-perfect throwback, not everything was worth hitting ‘refresh’ for. Keep reading for the highs, the lows, and all the WiFi glitches in between.

Yay:
The Venue: Hosted at the freshly-inaugurated Adidas Arena in Paris, the show had the spacious setup fashion week dreams are made of (for guests like us at least). Unlike the usual ultra-chic but suffocating Parisian venues — where you’re basically playing Tetris with your seat — the arena allowed for a packed crowd to settle in without having to elbow their way through for that perfect IG story shot. A perfect match for a show of this scale, Corperni proved that fashion and breathing room can actually coexist. *staring at whoever decides which venue fashion week shows usually take place at*
The Catering: Coperni had our dinner plans sorted at their last show (thank God), with hot dogs for mains, and pop corn for desert. We skipped the hot dog stands (scroll down to see why), but the popcorn was were it was at for us — sweet of course, as salted popcorn shouldn’t be a thing (and by the looks of it, Coperni agrees with us as that’s the only option they had available x)
The cargo-tights: Had no idea this was even a thing until we saw them — and now we can’t stop thinking about them. Women’s trouser pockets are a joke, so who wouldn’t want an extra pouch by the leg? Lowkey genius, though we’re just sitting here wondering how many more pockets could’ve fit. Also, someone tell the Coperni team that they need to patent that stuff ASAP!

Shy gamers and glam influencers became BFFs (kind of): 200 gamers, sat in rolling chairs, cozied up with celebs and guests, bringing early internet culture to the forefront of high-fashion. Was it unexpected? Yes. Was is it cool? Also yes. Looking almost as if they were pitted against each-other to create some sort of clash — in style, energy, and the whole shebang — each one of them played their part as they were asked: gamers were glued to Fortnite or Rocket League, while influencers gawked, through their phones, desperately trying to capture what Coperni had up its sleeve this season. The contrast was real, and it worked.
Bumping into Georgina Rodriguez: As she was probably wandering what she was doing surrounded by so many geeks just as much as we were when she could’ve been lounging by a rooftop pool in Riyadh. Jokes!
The puffer-style sleeping-bag dresses: Because you’re hot and you’re cold, you’re yes and you’re no… okay, enough with the jokes. But seriously, the concept is spot on for Dubai weather. It’s that perfect in-between where it’s too warm for a hoodie but still chilly enough that you can’t leave it at home.

Nay:
The venue (PT2): Honestly, while we were super grateful to finally be able to sit and, shocker, have enough leg room at the same time (a rare luxury during Fashion Week), the dim lights and the runway being so far away from the seating area made things a little tricky. We could barely a) get a good look at the clothes, and b) film what we needed to share with you all. On a personal (read: selfish) level, it was great, but as far as work goes… not exactly ideal.
The vegetarian hot dog: Swapping a sausage for an oven-baked carrot? We were fasting and still said “Non, merci.” Wish we could’ve tried the meat option but our halal-haram ratio draws the line at pork — sorry not sorry.
