A new music festival is set to land in the UAE— more precisely in Ras Al Khaimah— and it’s just weeks away from making its debut. Powered by Boogie Box, a UAE-based record label and music promoter; Analog Room, a renowned electronic music platform in Dubai; and Scene Noise, one of the Arab World’s leading music publications, the collaborative event aims to celebrate the very scene that each of them has helped build in their own ways over the years.

Scheduled for Nov. 8 at The Dunes in the desert, the day-long party is slated to run from 2pm to 7am, inviting those with a knack for house, techno, bass, and other genres, to dance the night (and early morning) away to some of the most exciting acts our region has to offer. Ticket-holders can expect sets by Netherlands-based Syrian selector Fafi Abdel Nour, Lebanese record label founder Ronin, and Saudi mixer Biirdperson, amongst many others. In total, 16 artists from over eight different nationalities are expected to flock to the UAE to share their sounds.

“Over the past decade, SceneNoise has been committed to building and spotlighting the electronic music scene within the region. We’ve always focused on putting Arab and SWANA artists at the forefront, whether that’s through media, our own events or curating stages at major festivals like Sandbox and Aegis,” Scene Noise co-founder Timmy Mowafi told MILLE.

“When Analog Room and Boogie Box, both cornerstones of the UAE’s scene, approached us with the idea to collaborate on a festival, it felt like a natural evolution. We share the same ethos: creating a festival that truly celebrates the incredible talent in the region, giving them the headline slots they deserve, and bringing together the dancefloor communities that fuel this scene. We hope Shams will become an annual event across different Middle Eastern cities, starting in the UAE and expanding to highlight the diverse scenes each city offers,” he added.

Past the music side of things, guests will be able to treat themselves at a curated food market, browse stalls from homegrown brands, and even sleep under the stars if they wish to at the purposefully built camping village.

Tickets are already on sale, starting at AED 130.
